is it really worth paying monthly for an eBay shop or should i stick to a regular account? i sell about 50 items a month worth around £25-£60.

All i know is that you get a few pence off the insertion fees... is there anything else to it?

Hi - I have been an eBay Power Seller since 2003 and have sold over 13,000 items. As an eBay consultant, I am often asked, "Should I open an eBay store? Is it worth paying for?" My answer, "Yes."

You may find great items for sale, but they don’t always sell the first time around on auction. When you open a store, you can put items in STORE INVENTORY on a 30-day listing for only cents a month. These items show up on searches, and shoppers will look at them. Always put your UNSOLD items into store inventory immediately. If buyers can’t see what you have, they can’t buy it. Sometimes, buyers will be watching that item, but are unable to place their bid for any number of reasons such as computer glitches, interruptions, or they simply forgot. When you move the item into store inventory, they can find it when they check their watch list, and purchase it after the auction has ended.

eBay Stores also provides you with sales and traffic reports as well as a wealth of other features. You can study your traffic reports to see which items (key words)and which categories are generating the most traffic and page views. You can use this information to make educated decisions about what items to sell.

You can also create a custom look for your store by using eBays templates and custom color and font options. Take a look at my eBay storefront. eBay Stores has a great email marketing feature - you can encourage your customers to sign up for your eBay store newsletter and create custom marketing campaigns by sending out newsletters announcing sales and specials. eBay offers several store subscriptions, so you can choose the one that is right for you.
