As time passes it seemd more and moore like Ron Paul is going to get a strong turn out. Judging by the demograph he is having success in it seems safe to say he could pull votes from Hillary Clinton.

Question was not if he would win or not. That is not even a possibility... read the question.
Stipulate for purpose of answering the question, he is a thrid party, or a write in.

With all the polls having Ron Paul at around 2-3% in the republican polls it leads me to beleive that his supporters are not Dems or Reps. I am thinking his support might be independents, which is what makes me ask if he will be a spoiler. I mean, he is not doing good in any poll but he seems to have a strong base. Got to be the Independents.

Reps will vot rep, Dems will vote dem... The parties are campaigning to draw new voters, be it new registrations, swing, independent.
I was asking if he was a third candadit, who would loose perspective voters... I guess I worded it poorly...

Unfortunatly no he won't , I think he will get more votes in the (r) primaries then people would think but he won't run as an independent or as a third party candidate.

guess what if they were independents they wouldn't of voted Dem or republican so net loss zero to both party's

you cant call him a spoiler if the 2 party's would actually come up with good solutions to our problem they wouldn't have to worry about Ron Paul.

Ron Paul will pull more votes from the Republican nominee, just think about it, Giuliani attacks Ron Paul directly, if he is nominated will Ron Paul supporters vote for him, NO they will stay home. Ron Paul quoted, " He will never be VP to Giuliani or Mitt, because if would reversed everything he stood for. So he is the opposite of Republicans, and during the GOP debates people have chosen Paul, the democrats debates, people have choosen Hillary.

good hillary is crooked! her cheatin husband made a mockery of the us govt! as monica would say- the dems left a bad taste in my mouth! hehe ron paul is the best candidate. he should win because he does not have a trial of dead bodies behind him. he is truthful, moral and does what he says he will do. americans need to stop doing the same old crap at the polss that got them into being the laughing stock of the world. think rationally instead of party lines. look at what ron paul stands for. he realy wants to change things. its not hype. he is real. vote for him!

He isn't going to be a 3rd party candidate. If he is the Republican nominee, he will beat Hillary Clinton easily. Afterall, in a country desperate for peace, is the candidate who voted for the Iraq War or the one who voted against it going to win the election?

I think it is amazing that Rep's think Dem's are supporting Ron Paul and Dems think Rep's are supporting him.

I used to be a Rep, then a Libertarian (Actually, I still am). Most of the people I meet that are supporting him are Libertarians and ex-Republicans.

Man do I hate the neo-cons!!!!!

In 1988, Ron Paul received less than 500,000 votes, about 1% of the total cast for George H W Bush.

He will do no better than that if he runs as an independent in 2008.

He has no chance of the party nomination. He's just spending the money of suckers and will keep whatever is left over.

Will he be a "spoiler". Yes. Who will benefit? Well, that would be Ron Paul, as he wins the White house.

Why do you think him winning is not a possibility? I could argue the same some of the so called "front-runners".

Only if he runs as an independant. He will not get the Rep. nomination, so if he runs as a 3rd party candidate, he could siphon votes from the Reps.
