Based on what you've said, try these 80s (not 70s) artists:

Bonnie Tyler
The Pretenders (and/or Chrissie Hynde, their lead singer)
Joan Jett
Alannah Myles
Stevie Nicks
Toyah
Kim Carnes
Cyndi Lauper
The Go-Gos
Blondie
Roxette
Lita Ford
Sam Brown
Rick Springfield
Bryan Adams
Corey Hart
Meatloaf

Blondie is pretty good. I'm not sure if you're call them rock, more like rock pop. From what I've heard Pat Benatar is a bit of the same style.

I choose classic Rock and have self belief it or no longer obtained a flavor for Hip Hop and option. no longer too undesirable for an older guy. I won't say I hate usa besides the undeniable fact that it somewhat is on the backside of my record.
