I will be moving to Phoenix early next year. I have my B.A. which I earned here in California. My question is, what steps would I need to take in AZ in order to be able to teach?

Check the Arizona Department of Education web site. They'll usually have a list of what you need to do. The first thing you want to do is make sure the two states are compatible. A lot of states will require you to either have a license from the state where you got your BA or you'll have to be sure you've taken the required tests for Arizona (not all states do the same tests). You can usually download a license application from the web site, and they'll require you to send them money and fingerprints for a background check (make sure, though, that you get the right cards--some states have to send you their cards).
