I moved to the Raleigh area and I have no relatives close by.
We cannot travel this Christmas.
What can I do with my parents and brother on a Christmas Day in a new area?

I like to go out for Chinese food because many of them are open on Christmas, and then to go see one of the new movies released over the holiday season.

These are often the films that are being released closer to the Oscar awards because the studio/producer believes they have a good chance at an award.

Throw a Christmas Party and invite your neighbors.
I'm sure this is their first Christmas in Raleigh too.

Go to Fayetteville Street and walk around. They already decorated the lampposts.

Go play football in a park...go to a new movie (some actually open on Christmas Day), volunteer to serve Christmas Dinner at a shelter and count your blessings! Good luck!

Spend time together - just the four of you. You could also volunteer as a family to help prepare/serve a holiday meal for those less fortunate, such as at a shelter or a nursing home where residents have no family to visit them for the holidays.
