Bill Clinton sign this into law along with the FBI being able to cross State Lines to apprehend those who owe back child support if it`s above a certain $ value. Also employers have to report new hires to some government agency for which I`m not sure what it`s called. This child Support Enforcement Law went into effect around 1998 or 1999.
Women are held accountable too.

If they had held up their end, this wouldn't be a problem.
The reality is that before most states enacted this law, many men just forgot that they had any kids, and they also forgot that they had any responsibility to those kids.
This forgetfulness on the part of men, or women, (women are also liable for child support,) gave the states an undue burden, that of providing those children and their moms with subsistance support.
These laws were not designed to protect women, or even children, they were designed to protect the state. That is why they exist. The state got tired of paying the bills for fatherless children.
Now if a father,(or mother) wishes to forget that they have children, that is their right, but the state will not allow them to forget that they have to support them.

Politicians that wanted to be elected. CS should not be a political matter,it results in political tools that accomplish nothing to benefit the child. You get political terms like "deadbeat dad",which would be a violation of a court order if the mother said it to the child in regards to the father. Child support is just selective enforcement of a court order, the courts enforce CS because they make money. There is no money made off of the rest of the court order. Taxpayers should be outraged over the system, the courts are wasting tax dollars to stay in power. I have to add that men have allowed it to get this far out of hand.

When you were told that your driver's license was going to be suspended or was in fact suspended for your failure to pay child support...your immediate response was to? Pay your child support so your license was not in jeopardy...right?
That's the purpose behind the penalty. First real men pay to support their children and they do so willingly and they do so on time. They offer no excuses and they recognize that their first commitment in life is to their child/children and feminism has nothing to do with responsibility....only people who wish to evade their moral and ethical duty to their children seek to excuse their failure to support.
Oh...by the way....if you hold a professional license that can be suspended as well. If you have a passport...that can be suspended as well. If you have an income tax refund coming...that can be intercepted as well. All these things are put into place for one simple purpose...to insure that MEN and WOMEN meet their financial obligations to their kids so the rest of us taxpayers do not have to support your child or children.

I don't know where you live but. The secretary of state where i live come up with that solution, And my solution is don't be a dead beat dad. After a drivers license is a privilege not a right so keep the child support up or before the child is conceived and you are a bum keep your pants zippered up. IGNORANCE of the law is no excuse.

wow.. talk about holding them down when they fall.
look people... I don't disagree that they should be punished for not paying child support.... but how are they supposed to start paying it if they can't drive to get a job?

I'd rather have them out of work and not supporting their children than working and not supporting their children.
