Hey you out there....I've got a question about The Sims 2 "Open for Buisness". So this is the question: I opened up a toy shop on my own plot of land not on a communial plot. So, the shop is downstairs and my own place where I live in is upstairs. I open up the shop and people come....but they don't buy anything!!! Instead what they do is to walk behind the counter through a door and upstairs into my own home.... . There they watch TV..... . And after a while they walk out again without havin bought anything.... . I don't know what I've done wrong....I've got a cash machine and an assistent to help me. And the people only come in if the shop is really OPEN, and you can see the peole if you look into wich customers have come....so they count as customers.... . How can I get them to buy something??? And how can I keep them from walking in to my "private house"?? Have I done anything wrong?

Click on the door and choose one of the lock options.

Before anyone can buy anything in your store you have to set the things for sale. Click on the price tag icon on the upper right hand corner. It opens a panel. Click on the new price tag icon you see. Then click on each item you want to sell. They should turn yellow.

You've not done something wrong. Customers can walk into your house and use your stuff if you have a business on your community lot. It's VERY frustrating. But, you can lock your doors, so only family members can use them. Unfortunately, this means that friends who are visiting can't use those rooms, either. *rolleyes* Just click on a door, and it should say something about locking it. You can unlock a door the same way - just click it and chose the right options.

Your best bet would be to make sure you close your store when you don't want people roaming your house. You can also put up one of those Ticker things. They charge people for the amount of time they spend on the lot.

As for getting objects to sell, are you sure you've set a price for items in the store? People won't buy unless they have a price on them. Click on the items, and it should give you a box to set the price on. Set them a little bit cheaper so people will buy. You can increase the price once you have some loyal customers. Also check that you have a till, with enough space in front of it, and someone to man the tills. Customers who are considering buying an item will stop in front of it, and think about the item - they'll have a little blue bar above their head, which will slowly fill. If you want to make sure they purchase, go talk to them and try and sell the item.

Open for Business is a lot of fun, but it's almost as much work as running your own business. I found it easier to just have a separate shop somewhere else, so I can just focus on running the shop when I'm on the shop lot. Good luck!

It's a home business, which means anything on the lot is available to them unless you lock them out.

Lock all the doors so only family can go in (make sure the walls are up so you can see the doors and right click them). You'd only need to lock the outside doors. However, no one else will be able to get in (including invited guests, so you'll have to unlock a door when they come over).

The shoppers will go where the fun is; if you have fountains or swings on your property where there is not a door/wall, they will gravitate toward that. Utilize your Sims' sales skills to keep the customers interested in the products and not your house.

To keep visiting sims out of the sim house, put the walls up and click on the door to the upstairs, choose lock and it should give you options for just self or just family.

For sales, click on the visiting sim you want to sell to and click sales. For a begining seller there will only be basic sell, but as you get badges for selling, there will be more.

You can get one of the sims that lives there to lock the door that leads upstairs so that only family members or family member and employees can go through.

Have you gone into sale mode and tagged the things that are for sale?
