What role does Chauga Faugn play in the Cthulhu mythos?

I have been a fan of H.P. Lovecraft's work. Then a friend of mine mentioned Chauga Faugn. I can't seem to find any info about him.

The name that has been assigned to the RPG monster is a mis-spelling of the actual name: Chaugnar Faugn
