Post Office, is ran by the Federal Government. They are a Federal Agency, so Veteran's Day is considered a Federal Government Holiday.

The Post Office is a federal office and Veterans Day is a federal holiday.

Me neither. Someone posted yesterday if you had to work
on Veteran's Day. I said it cracked me up how it landed
on Sunday but the government took off Monday. I meant
the Post Office. I worked yesterday. My Dad was a
Veteran.
Edit-
For the thumbs down, I don't get the Post Office
either and neither did my Dad. He was a Veteran
and Worked At The Post Office For 18 years. He said
he didn't understand why the Post Office got Veteran's
Day off too. Only Veterans should have the day off.
Thank You Srracvue up there, I agree with you. When
I get enough points, I will do thumbs up. I don't do
thumbs down.

It's just one more 'perk' that federal employees get, thanks to the generosity and largess of U.S. taxpayers. I'm sure all federal employees spent the day honoring our veterans, remembering those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom, and spent their free time doing something to thank our soldiers for their courageous service to this country. I'm sure no federal employees used this holiday as a time to catch up on their sleep, shop, clean the garage or do other things to their own personal benefit or desire. I'm sure the day was spent recognizing our brave soldiers. -RKO- 11/13/07

The U.S. Postal Service is a federal entity (even though they are supported by sales and not by tax dollars) and as such, gets federal holidays off.
