Bachmann sells a nice variety of trains. I like the Polar Express myself. It has the disappearing hobo on the top.

Look up Lionel Trains online to find a distributor near you, they have several engines that you can customise with themed cars. Don't buy the cheap sets that are released at Walmart during the holiday season, they derail constantly. The Lionel trains are pricey, but worth it, and you can pass them down over time. I remember when my son got up to find a train running around the tree, it was priceless, and he helps me put it together every christmas. It's a very nostalgic tradition, any one who doesn't know why a train should run around the tree should look at old fashioned pictures in books, there they are, running around almost every tree. Polar Express anyone?
My uncle has one running on a small track on his dining room table during christmas supper, he's great at that kind of stuff and also recommends Lionel.

Sorry but you're on your own with this little obsession I'm afraid. I have never heard of anyone, sane or otherwise, putting a toy train round the bottom of a tree.
