I watch & listen from a distance. Preferably from behind a pole, but always with my eyebrows raised.

if it's some idiot customer, screaming at some young kid just trying to do his or her jobs (you know the type...."what do you mean this sandwich costs this much??? what the hell is wrong with this store???") i'll speak up...as long as i'm not going to get shot or knifed. i hate when someone bullies a kid just trying to do his or her job. but if the customer is in the right, and the clerk is a jerk...i'll just smile and watch.

I watch and listen, and if I think it is getting out of hand, I will step in, if it is an employee being verbally attacked by a customer. Or I'll go find a store manager quickly.

I had to step in between a clerk at a c-store I used to work at, and a customer, because they were screaming at each other. The customer was a jerk and I knew it, so I stepped in and told him to shut the he l l up and listen to me. I explained it like it was, and that he was in the wrong, and if he didn't like the way our system worked, he could just go on to the store up the street. He was about 6'3", and I am 5'5", but I can stand my ground like no body's business. The clerk that was working was ready to come over the counter and deck this guy, he was such an ignorant a s s.

If I see a parent slapping around a child, then I will step in as well. I don't care how mad that parent may be, they have no right to slap a kid around. Sometimes that's all it takes for the parent to realize they are out of control. If they tell me to butt out, I tell them I will, as soon as they calm down, and quit smacking the kid around, or I could always pull out my cell, and call DCF, and turn them in for child abuse. That usually stops them dead in their tracks. lol.

No way. They'd have to repeatedly be rude in order for me to consider not going. But I would not stop shopping anywhere because of anyone. If an employee is rude one too many times you should report them to the manager. If it happens again email the corporate office and tell them that nothing has been done about the employee after you filed a complaint.

Nothing, unless I think someone might get hurt, then "dumb a$$ me" tries to step in with a clam solution.
Sometimes, not a good idea...Several years ago on New Years Eve, I was out with friends at a restaurant when a fight broke out in front of us, when I notice that the victim was getting pounded by 4 people I jumped up and tried to step in, guess what...one of the assaulters pulled a gun out and put it to my face and asked if I wanted some.
I did stand my ground, but knew it was a very stupid thing for me to do.
by standing my ground and not backing off and was in between the gun and the victim, the assaulter ran off (it could have been because of the sirens, LOL).
sometimes it's best not to get involved, but my nature has always been try and help.

I try to listen from a distance, but I always feel anxious when it's going on. I usually leave the area if it gets too heated.

I think some people haven't learned that you don't mess with the people that fix your food. You don't know what they're doing behind the scenes if you get nasty with someone.

I once had to tell the guy to shut the hell up, accept that he was wrong and get the hell on.

The guy was cursing and I had my daughter with me at the time and she was a two year old mocking bird at the time.
