Wow...two days in Chicago...where to begin??

Seriously, though...probably the first place to check out is Metromix (http://www.metromix.com) as this is the place that lists everything that is going on in Chicago for a particular time period. From restaurant recommendations to one-time events, this is a good place to find things to do. This guide not only covers the downtown area but the many neighborhoods and suburbs which make up our great city.

You did not mention when you are coming to the city. if its within the next couple of months, you will see Chicago dressed in its holiday finest. One area to check out is North Michigan Avenue (Magnificent Mile) where they have all the trees decked out in lights and of course all the stores are decorated as well. (http://www.themagnificentmile.com/).

South of the Chicago River there are even more places to check out. If the weather is decent, you want to be sure to walk through Grant and Millenium Parks, all along South Michigan Avenue. Theres the infamous Cloudgate as well as an area where you can go ice skating (http://www.millenniumpark.org/).

Here is something to check out...its the GOChicago card. For $75 you can get unlimited admission to 25 of the best attractions, activities, and tours that Chicago has to offer. There is definitely something for everyone here: http://www.gochicagocard.com/index.html

Finally, if you will be travelling around the city, you might want to invest in a CTA Visitors Pass. For $9 you can go anywhere around the city using the Public Transportation.

Have fun with whatever you decide to do!

Probably the Signature room at the top of the Hancock Building (as others have mentioned). Free view of the entire city and lake...

The Art Institute of Chicago. You can come nose to nose with a Picasso or Monet, a rare opportunity.

Perhaps ride the Red Line el train from Downtown the North End of the city. You won't get a better example of the cross-section of people and places that make up Chicago.

Soldier Field on a Bears Game day. Even if you don't have a ticket, just walk around and see the people tailgating, partying, etc. It's a fun/strange atmosphere. who knows, they may ask you to join the party...

Sears Tower.. Not much to see but it is the tallest building in North American so I guess that's something.

Lunch or dinner in Greektown. Order the saganaki... opaaaa!!!!

The Green Mill jazz bar. A classic Chicago bar. If you can't make it there, try the Old Town Ale House bar on North Ave.

Depends on what really interests you. Most people go to the Sear Tower, Art Institute, Navy Pier, and the Museum of Science & Industry.

They have something called the Museum Tour if you're interested in that stuff, but it takes the whole day for the most part. You will go to the Art Institute, Museum of Science & Industry, and the Field Museum.

If you want a good view, go to the Signature room at the Hancock Tower for some drinks.

Just explore the city though. Site seeing is cool and all, but it's the Chicago culture that is amazing.

I would hit the Shedd Aquarium, Adler Planetarium and Museum of Science and Industry. I would also just walk around downtown, it's beautiful. There's also a boat trip that goes down the river into Lake Michigan, but I'm not sure if it runs this time of year. If it does bundle up!

Dining suggestions: Greektown, Chinatown, and Giordano's Pizza.

Have fun!

i could reccomend seeing a coach on/off Broadway. bypass to Chinatown in case you like style and knock-off clothier purses, shoes, cologne, and so on... you are able to desire to locate a robust bagel place and a hollow-in the wall place for a slice of enormous apple pizza. The smaller and dirtier looking, the greater advantageous. MoMA replaced into stated above and is actual spectacular. My all-time well-known museum! you will desire to journey the subway a minimum of as quickly as, purely say you had the adventure. Coney Island is relaxing, whether it fairly is crowded and grimy. definite, floor 0 is eye-commencing, yet you won't be able to get everywhere on the ingredient of it and you will't fairly take photos because of fact there is fences up everywhere. The statue of Liberty is great yet you would be in line for some hours in case you plan on going to the final, comparable with the Empire States development. individually, I even have been to enormous apple many a time because of family contributors residing there, and that i do no longer difficulty with the vacationer-y stuff... enormous apple is ultimate purely jogging around a people-watching, looking in keep homestead windows and ingesting a Bagel & Schmear in a highway-part restaraunt... yet that's me! Have a BLAST! that's no longer difficult to in the style of great city! a impressive magazine to get till now you bypass is termed "time out enormous apple city" it has each and every of the exhibits, highway gala's and different entertainment that's happening that month. that's the final!

Take the tour bus in the downtown area. Besides seeing a lot, you can get further information on all the sites. That's how I've done it in other cities when visting especially London. The tour bus guide gave me great information on things to go and see when I got off the bus. I really did see a lot when I was on the bus though and you can stop and get off to look up close at something and then get on the next bus going by to continue the trip. Have fun.

The art museum is great, so it the Natural History museum and the Aquarium.

Stroll up and down Michigan Ave, and go to Millers Pub next to the Palmer hotel.
