When a coaching vacancy is available & soon. There are rumors going around that several coaches in the Leauge are on the hot seat if they can't turn their teams around & soon. Joe Gibbs is one & John Foxx is the other. I think if Carolina fired John Foxx at the end of the season, then Cowher would take the job from him. He has a home outside of Raleigh & it would be the perfect place for him to coach.

Would that ever be bad a$sed? I am a big Cowher fan and of course my team since birth, is the Redskins. Wissenhunt is sucking air down in Arizona. Man would that ever be such an awesome combination if those two got back together and came to DC. Trust you me, big daddy Dan Snyder has MORE than enough money to make something like that happen.

He's not, at least anytime soon.

His two oldest daughters are playing college basketball for Princeton. His youngest daughter (the one who was born shortly after his rookie coaching season) is still in high school.
He missed all their extra curricular activities (especially the older girls) when they were growing up. He's already said several times that he wanted to spend time with them.

If he comes back, I don't see it happening for 3-5 years. He'll get alot of offers but I doubt he'll take them. Besides, he's got a cushy job as an in studio football analyst with CBS. Why would he give that up?

He will NOT be coaching the Chargers. They ran his mentor out on a rail. His reason for quitting was to spend more time with his family. I couldn't see him as the Redskins coach because their owner wouldn't let him have the control he wants. I could see him at Carolina because he lives there now.

I has been reported that people close to him have stated that he does NOT want to coach the Browns.

Read something awhile ago that the only team he'd consider coaching is Cleveland, because of his loyalty to the owners or something.

I miss Cowher :(

Cowher will sit this year out, and likely next year as well. i don't see him returning before the 2009 season. he is loving his casual "Semi" retirement. he will watch his daughter graduate, recharge his batteries, and then resurface somewhere. LIkely NY (Giants) or Washington.

The Skin definitely need something or someone to utilize that talent a lot better than Joe Gibbs.

Skins fan, you can keep dreaming on that one. He'll probably take another year off, and even if he does come back next year, he won't be coaching the DEADSKINS. He'll probably be coaching the Giants(assuming they let go of Coughlin) or the Panthers(assuming they let go of Fox).

I heard he was coming to Cleveland because he has ties to the team, but he has ties to alot of teams so who knows. I would like to see him come to Cleveland in 2009, unless Romeo Crennel keeps the team moving in a positive direction. It would give Crennel a little more time to do that if he had another season. We will see.

GO BROWNS!!
