Is it true that they are persuing Pete Carroll from USC to replace Norv Turner??? That would be great. Turner is NOT a Good Head Coach and looks like a deer in the headlights, everytime the camera shows him.

That has been a Rumor out here in Southern Cali for a while , Pete Carroll is not going back to the NFL he loves the College Atmosphere to much , to bad I hate USC but I have to say Carroll is a Great Coach and a super person I have met him a few times .

If they want to even THINK about getting back to where they need to be the first thought in that mindset needs to be BEG and secondly "Where's the nearest Dick's sporting goods, because I'm gonna need some kneepads!"... because AJ Smith needs get on his hands and knees when he arrives at Marty's doorstep! The players respected him and cared about him... it's very confusing for athletes when the guy who brought you to the level you were at gets canned and somebody comes in and ruins all that chemistry. And believe me... Pete Carrol is NOT the solution... he might be a great COLLEGE coach, but NFL... no way! He was a great college coach before the NFL recruited him... who recruited... well it was my New England Patriots... and the team was horrid! Then they got Belichick and USC got Carrol and the rest is history. Marty is the answer... not Carrol.

I heard they are going to fire A.J. Smith and re-hire Marty. lol, ok, I did not really hear this, but that is what they should do.
They should have just hired Wade Philips..but then again, maybe they tried and he said, 'No way buddy".
As for Pete Carroll, I think if this Reggie Bush thing blows up and USC gets hit hard, Pete would gladly jump ship and move back to the NFL. He may know already that it is going to go bad and is putting out feelers...

Good luck. Pete Carroll is pretty dedicated to USC and I heard that he didn't want to go back to coaching the NFL.
But one can hope, right?

Norv is definately not the answer for SD. But do you remember the last time Carroll coached in the NFL? He was almost as bad as Turner.

I doubt the Chargers could afford what USC is paying Carroll.
