Why didn't you tell her something sooner? At this point damage could have already been done.

tell her that you thought you knew everything about her but you didn't know that she was a killer; because of her smoking while pregnant (and I suppose she will continue on smoking around the baby once she/he is born since she doesn't care) her child may one day develop hear disease, lung cancer and those do kill people; not to mention asthma which is no fun for a kid to grow up with. You should be very brutal when talking with her, do not be afraid to use strong words maybe that will get her thinking. And remind her that you are her friend and you not only care about her health but also that of her unborn child who is defenseless. talk to the baby's father if he is around, maybe you could do more together. good job for caring.

Just tell her to stop. When she smokes while pregnant her lungs aren't the only one inhaling it, the nicotine and other carcinogens are being 'fed' to her baby. It's worse than second hand smoke, it's like the baby itself is inhaling it.

All you can do is tell her you don't like to see it. Make a stand if you're going to do something together, or she wants to come over, or hang out or anything with you. Tell her she's more than welcome, as long as she leaves the cigarettes at home.

You can tell her the bad effects like low birth weight, having a sick baby, slow development when baby arrives, but unfortunately it's her decision (although a very bad decision).

At work, we had the same issue with our HR person who smoked up to the date she had her baby. We asked her to stop but she didn't. Fortunately her baby was ok.

telling her to stop is not going to make her stop....just going to force her into secret smoking and cause her extra stress. to ease your own mind i would ask her what her doc has advised regarding her habit. believe it or not many pregnant mothers still smoke in secret. it is more prevalent then you might think. though i can't understand why... as i've never smoked...it's still there, just not as much in public. she must already know the consequences of her actions, let her deal with them on her own.

I would tell her that you're concerned about her smoking whilst pregnant but in the end it's her decision and you need to respect that.

You can tell her however you would like. but it will probably just make her mad and she wont listen anyway. If she gave a damn about anyone else but herself, she would have stopped on her own as soon as she found out she was pregnant.

If she is seven MONTHS and still smoking she probably wont stop! But I would still go down in the books as the one who told her to stop!

You can say something about how it's not healthy for the baby. But in this day and age, I'd bet she knows about that already.

Butt out. I am sure she has been told many times. If she was going to listen she would have already quit. It is not your place to control everyone else's life, even if you do know what is best for them.
