If a third rainbow is seen, it is called tertiary rainbow. It can be seen very rarely as it will be very dim.Double rainbows are produced when the sunlight is reflected twice in a rain drop.Similarly a third rainbow is produced if the sunlight is reflected three times within a rain drop.As the number of reflections increase, the intensity of the colours of the rainbow become less and less and that is why the third rainbow is very dim .
