This is all so true...It happens and happened to me almost 19 years ago. I set someone free for what I thought was all the right reason at the time. He married and thirteen years later we talked. He ask why I let him go. I explained that I felt our being together would hinder his career and his dreams. He was and still is very upset with me. He is the father of my oldest child. We get along great I thought that we would end up together in the end...I ruined a prefect thing and do have regrets but we have both moved on and get along wonderfully..both involved in raising our son.

I think that is a stupid little poem some ninth grade girl made up.
"if they are human they will realize their mistake,"
What mistake? Cheating? If that's the mistake you mean, in that case, YOU might love them, but they obviously do not love you!
In real adult relationships, little cookie-cutter poems like this, do not apply. Life is not black and white, there are too many shades of pale and gray.

I think the point is that you can't hold onto someone who doesn't want to be held...You can't rely on them realizing what a mistake they made because that usually never happens and if it does sometimes it's too late...If you have someone good in your life, appreciate and love them...If your not happy be honest and true with yourself and with them as well...Don't have yourself wondering about the what if's and why's in a relationship you lost....

That's a bunch of bull... Life is made of ups and downs and just because you love someone with all your heart doesn't mean they are the one for you. Believe me I've been there and done that. When someone lives, just let them be and move on, you might not understand at the time, but there's a bigger picture always and years from now , you might actually understand why it happened, been there done that too.
Good luck

If you love someone set them free, if they come back it was meant to be, otherwise it wasen't meant to be."

I agree mostly but being 30 years old now I don't believe I would ever let them back after I set them free...life is too short to be going back and forth...how many times do you "set them free"...2...3...4...no thanks. I set them free and wish them well :)

I think it's true.
