values are personal, morals are societal -

i.e. Society holds that adultery is wrong though I don't seem to have a problem with it.

to me it's like the difference between "fact" and "opinion" - there are "facts" in a text book or the newspaper (i.e. the public) and then I have my opinion about them.

Morality is doing the right thing for the right reason. Value is a reason for doing something regardless of whether it is the right reason or not. Values are most often feelings because we place value on feeling good.

Morality has to include a higher moral authority to whom we owe an obligation. That can only be God. If God is taken out of the picture, then morality degenerates to doing whatever we feel like doing.

On an individual level they mean the same.

On a society level, they mean the same but usually come from a general concensus of a certain group.

i.e. The "minority" of Evangelical Christians have shaped the supposed values and morals of America. Though they don't represent many people.

There are three principle types of values which humans can have: preferential values, instrumental values and intrinsic values. Each plays an important role in our lives, but they don't all play equal roles in the formation of moral standards and moral norms.
