We have retracted from the Bush Administrations PNAC beliefs that we ruled the world - to our normal American identity.
It costs a lot in money and lives to rule the world. Not worth it.

The US role as international constable is over.
The world looks at the divisions in this country and all the officials waving the surrender flag in the face of victory and have rightfully stopped taking us seriously.
There is not one person on the American political horizon that will have the guts to deploy troops anywhere in real strength. None will stick their head on the chopping block and go through the pain Bush has.
Ron Paul advocates isolationism and there are many who agree. Romney rarely challenges Paul even when the little twerp attacks him. I'm thinking Romney is a closet isolationist.
I wouldn't use the word 'FALLEN' as you have but more like a turn inward in recognition that the US no longer has the stomach for long drawn out defense of principles in places where the interest is not palpable. That the American people are too stupid to understand that the interest in the Middle East is real and that the interest in a place like Bosnia is nil, is the reason you feel the way you do.
Check out the first source. The British sense it coming. They have a better perspective and more experience in noticing US isolationism.

Do people ever look up what's been happening or just jump on the bandwagon.
Kurdistan has been a hot bed of terrorist activity for years, in fact the only terrorist training camps were found in Kurdish controlled Iraq. The Kurds have been killing Turkish, Iranian, Iraqi, Syrian people with terrorist activity and this is why Saddam gassed them. Turkey has crossed the boarder thousands of times to attacked terrorist camps in Northern Iraq and used to do so frequently, Turkey has been very restrained since the USA took control of Iraq.
Since America is refusing to act on these terrorist, almost harboring them, surely Turkey has a right to attack them? Isn't hypocritical of America to say it can't? The Turks didn't go after civilians but only know terrorist camps and buildings. If Mexico started shooting rockets into Texas how long before the USA invaded the area and tried to sort out the people who were doing it.

We need the Turks more than they need us. We run most of our supplies through Turkey to Iraq. It was a forgone conclusion that Turkey was going to try and take the Kurdish area of Iraq as soon as the US invaded anyway. They've had their hairy eyeball on that area for decades. WIth Hussein and his threat of "weapons of mass destruction" gone, and with the excuse of the area beining in civil unrest, the Turks can sneak in and snag it. The US won't do anything cause we need the Turks as an airstrip and our military is too thin to stop them. Plus, the Pres is huffing and puffing about going after Iran, so their military sights are elsewhere.

Worse - Turkey is an ally and NATO member - pretty cool huh how we can actually have a NATO member bombing a country we're occupying. That has got to be incompetence on a level as yet unimagined.
But hey, don't fret - 66% of us wanted to run into Iraq guns blazing. 51% of us reelected the guy that made that move long after we knew we'd been had.
We should be rejoicing over the current state of affairs - it is exactly what we wanted.
WE GOT OUR WAR YIPPPPEEEEE!

It is a complete disgrace, what is worse, civil disobedience in ignoring what is going on because we are "too busy".
