No, it's not common, just over-reported by the media in our 24 hour news cycle. It makes it feel "common".
OJ was 10 years ago. Chris Benoit was a very sick man... Wrestling is more a part of the entertainment industry.
I think a bigger epidemic is found among young athletes who make a lot of money really fast and can't resist drugs, partying, gambling, dog fighting, and other illicit activity. I suppose that much money makes you feel invincible and not subject to the justice system.

It's not common in American sports. It's also not common among Healthy people. America is Not the only place with people killing their spouses for one reason or another.Murder is prevalent everywhere for whatever reason the human mind can come up with and the people doing it are usually sick or just trying to stop those that are against what one wants. There is no excuse what so ever for murder.

It is no more common among sports personalities than among the general population. Mind you, it is never right, no matter who does it. The sad thing about our culture is as more and more heinous crimes occur, we become lulled into accepting it as the norm. An example of this is the original school shooting case in Columbine. After it happens a couple of times, then people are not so shocked and become more complacent. Soon it does become a part of our culture.

No! Don't get the wrong idea. OJ Simpson was a crazy person, and the wrestler was depressed. Neither of the killings had any relation to their careers in sports. They were jsut personal problems.

I am surprised at your choice of a question of this nature, that too, related to American culture. How can a student even imagine that a thing like wife killing by a group of people can ever be allowed to become a routine thing in a democratic society, that too, as open a society as America? You better have your Fundas cleared up or else it would be a sheer waste of time ,student or not.

WWE is not a sport - it's all fake
OJ was an awesome athlete, unfortunately, he is a psychopath too.
But no, it's not a common practice among American athletes - it's pretty common for them to be adulterers though - and it's pretty common for them to be in shootouts at strip clubs. That happens a good bit

No, those instances are the only two I can think of. They are just very well publicized when they occur. The wrestler was using steroids to build his muscles, which can lead to rage.
