Unfortunately, Her Majesty's Government only allows people to serve as MPs if they acknowledge Her God given right to be queen, which kinda makes it compulsory, albeit insane.
The people who placate the scenario by provising moderation and separation of religious belief and secular, professional or political conduct don't seem to understand what religions are. They're not moderate and they're not separate.

Religion and Gods have no place in a government. Anyone who has priorities for another place or thing and can (and will) put them above the good of their country should be removed from office.
Their personal beliefs are for them self and as long as they never cross over into their job and keep them at home I have no problems.
As soon as people start voting the way their church tells them to the sooner this country will collapse.

No it should not be illegal - but neither should anyone's religion be able to shape the politics of a country in this day and age. The moment they mentioned God as having a say in their decisions they should be removed from office.

No but as a Christian I would not particularly wish to have an atheist as Prime Minister

Why should someone's religion have an impact on their ability to hold public office?
Candidates should be voted for on the basis of their political opinions, not their religion.
That sounds a little like Nazi Germany where Jews could not own businesses or run for political office... Very unfair.

The more I hear about how politically correct the mother land has become, I'm afraid it already is illegal.

Yes religion should be banned from politics as the politicians (Bush/ Blair) think they are doing the Lords work!

Yes only atheists should be allowed as they are the only people with pure thoughts who can think for themselves. And do not rely on fictional characters and storys to get by in life.I mean come on you have to question the sanity of religious people.
