Does he have any hobbies? Sports? Wine? Cooking? You can get gift cards or other related gifts for him.

If he really does have everything, you can donate to charities. There is a nice one " Heifer Project" Donors can give $ towards the purchase of animals to help those in the 3rd world.
Like $20 towards a purchase of a cow. Or $20 and buy 6 chicks. The receiver learns how to care for the animals and this helps them on the way to independence.

A gift certificate to a really nice restaurant is always nice, even for people who have everything. If he's married, his wife will be happy too, and if he's single, he'll bring a date. Most everybody loves to go out to a good restaurant, have a little wine, and just relax.

Aim for a "gesture" gift rather than anything substantial (or expensive). Examples: If his home will have a christmas tree, a nice ornament is a good gift. If he's a nut for a football team get one with their logo (or if he loves his dog, get one that looks like his dog, etc.). If he has children a nice frame for a family photo that sits on his desk is good.

Are you required to buy for your boss? I'm prohibited from doing so. In your situation though, if it's not required I wouldn't. A greeting card should suffice.
