Monocots are plants with grass-like leaves. Monocots include the most economically important plants, such as rice, wheat, barley, oat (grains) and grasses. They also include some of the important garden plants, such as tulip, daylily, lily, orchids, and daffodils. Some exotic plants, like pineapple, palms, banana are also monocots. Vegetables like onion, green onion, and leek are also monocots.
