I am a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather and a Son. Have been married over three decades.

I am dependable. I do not overreact or panic under stress. Most people I work with or for believe that they can give me something to do and consider it done and know it will be done correctly. I am proud of that.

I am rarely wrong about most things but if I am, I have no problem admitting my error and correcting it. Most things interest me and I enjoy reading and learning as well as instructing and demonstrating.

I have arrived at my political philosophy (Conservative) after much careful consideration, practical experience and historical research.

I am not a member of any particular religion but I believe in God. I love to debate.

I treat others as I would have them treat me.

I don't understand, are you asking this generally or personally?

Generally, 'You' are your physical being and appearance, your personality and your presence of mind. People stand out because they are exceptional at one of these, lik an exceptionally powerful presence of mind, which is a professor or president or someone like that, who carries implications of authority.

Personally, I stand out because of physical appearance, which some find good, and some find bad. Also, my personality is a bit shy and reserved, unfortunately the shy and reserved types attract attention better than most, so I draw people with that. I don't mind standing out too much, but standing out for too long can become tedious.

I hope I answered your question satisfactorily.

I'd rather not STAND out! If I do, then the circumstance that makes me target the most is that people consider me nieve, easy to decieve, signifigant social problems, lack of support mechanisms, grew up fatherless, I am not ugly neither am I beautiful, I have unique appearance that makes me stand out, people think that I am gullible (really I will play the part, as long as I am amongst them who give out too much information) I am accustomed with strong delusions of grandeur ( im not talking about schizophrenia) , I mean I think I have the lifestyle, ability, and circumstance to make people regard me, and that makes others think that's a possibility so they act different hoping for a piece of the American Pie, and so goes down the chain... Do I want to stand out? Yes & No! I don't want recognition or to be treated better, don't confuse me there, but I really am a religious fanatic, who if I carried on I would need to stand out to be listened to, like Billy Grahm. Sometimes, the dreams or aspirations we want to do with our life, place us in a situation of standing out, whether we want to or not. Wouldn't you stand for your country or ideologies, if they were being attacked??? So as I must.

In my experience, wanting and striving to stand out more often than not turns out to be a bad bargain in terms of ultimate satisfaction and happiness... moreover, whoever manages to stand out seems to attract a lot of jealousy and ill-will of various people who appear to be waiting to target at the first available opportunity. By standing out, one does get ego gratification but loses peace of mind and often even the balance of judgment. Modest ambition and reasonable humility lead to greater peace and happiness in the ultimate analysis.
