Have you any idea how much bird-actors cost - they don't work for chicken-feed!

Really - the SFX involved in the original movie were done at the time using live birds - the actress (Tippi Hedren) was pretty shook up about the experience.

While new technology could possibly allow someone to remake The Birds, its doubtful - everyone would judge the new movie by the excellent standard of the original. The biggest catch is - how do you remake an old movie that was "years ahead of its time"?

The director would also have to be frighteningly good to beat the production skills of Mr Hitchcock at his peak (arguably the greatest shock-horror directory EVER) - so it might be seen as a bad choice from that point alone.

I think the news of how well received the remake of Psycho was, has yet to reach the 5th dimension.

Because it was done so well the first time...

Just like how no one has done a remake of The Godfather.

90% of remakes are FAIL! anyway.

Lets not ruin another classic movie with a bad remake.

It was never worth remaking. It was good the first time.

Directors and writers are too scared to touch it. To possibly see cheesy people like Amber Tamblyn or Kristin Cavallari or Ashton Kutcher, even Chris Brown in a crappy remake would be too much.

Since when has the remake of a classic ever been better than the original?

Most movie producers know better.

That doesn't mean it won't happen.

Because they flew away before we could remake their movie.
