You may be a victim of Phishing. People compose and send emails that appear to be from ebay. These emails will ask you for your info like passwords, account names. If you accidentally fall for this, they have everything they need to sign in and change settings on your ebay account.

You may have to close your account and start over with ebay. Ebay will never ask you for your password in an email.

Your passwords were all changed. That is why you cannot sign in.

Ebay did not email you asking you to change all of your settings.

You received a spoof/phishing email and clicked on the link within the email which took you to a genuine looking replica but nevertheless bogus ebay site.

When you put in all of your information to "change" you gave the creator of the bogus site all of your ebay info. They went into your account and took it over.

You can try to contact ebay (good luck with that) and if you had any banking info, etc. stored in ebay that has been compromised also. You will need to close out any bank accounts/credit cards - pretty much anything that relates to whatever was stored on ebay.

In the future, if you should receive another email like that be it from ebay, a bank, wherever, DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINK IN THE EMAIL.

Always open a SEPARATE browse windows and type in the address of the website that way.

Well since someone hacked you account ,they obviously had you password,so ebay changed you password so they couldnt get in again. Email them for your new password. I was once hacked into and the guy tried to sell $30,000 worth of stuff on my account.

ugg..... you got phished....

First off, Close your pay pal account NOW! Just do it!

What happened is that thing "they" sent you was a scam, someone now has your user name and password are are free to do whatever they want with it!

Try to recover your username by getting a new password sent to your email, and notify Ebay immediately.
