What sounds similar to gregorian chant but without the chants?

*updated* sorry if it sound confusing. what i meant was usually there will be background music together right.

So i'm wondering what sounds like the 'background music' without the chants...

The only Gregorian Chants with background music I've heard are when they where sampled by Enigma ~ the existing chants were layered over music.

That sort of music would be classed as 'New Age'.

Umm, I'm confused as to what you're looking for here, could you be more specific, maybe?

A Gregorian Chant without the chant (meaning without the words) would be...nothing? Traditional Gregorian Chants have no musical accompaniment, they have only the monk's voices. Take the voices (chants) away and you'd have...silence.
