I just read an article, which stated.
Seven injured players didn't suit up, and Indy dressed only 44 players -- one fewer than NFL rules permit. Four more players went down during the game, and there's no indication when they'll play again.
If the rules do not permit less than 44, should they have been allowed to play at all, shouldn't the game have been forefited?

I'm not a Pats fan, I'm a KC fan.
This quote had nothing to do with the Pats, it was from the Chargers game.
Just wondering what we can expect, on Sunday.

Excellent Question! I have no idea. Guess we'll have to do some research on that one. But I think if I were in that situation, I would just call (anybody) off the streets, and have them wear a uniform for a day. (rules?)

excellent use of sarcasm YT, classic...after reading a few articles, heres my take. the teams have to field the same number of players. if the colts had 47 on the roster, the pats would have 47. but if the colts had 44, the pats can still have 45.

"The NFL rule PERMITS 45 players being suited up for a game. In my opinion, it sounds like 45 is the maximum that can suit up...there is no minimum number." --- posted by hoosier daddy ...
the statement is "One fewer than the NFL rules permit",
that suggests that the maximum is above 45, if they were down 7 players, then the maximum would be 52 suited up.
Perhaps they should have suited up, someone who was injured, and just not put him in the game.

Their is no minimum number of players that have dress out for the game. Its not like having fewer players is going to give you an advantage. So their should be no consequences. The consequences are not having enough people to finish the game if everyone gets hurt.

By rule, the team owner would have to suit up and play center for that game.
Just kidding.

YT, get your facts straight. The Pats haven't had to forfeit any games, only a 1st round draft pick.
As far as what the ruling should be, I don't know.

Yes, they should forfeit the game just like the Pats did when they were caught cheating. You certainly sound like the typical idiot Pats fan.
**Obviously the person below me cant comprehend sarcasm and proves that typical pats fans are idiots.
