80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

First of all, there is no such thing as a "spirit" or a "god." These are just images and ideas projected by the intelligent human brain. We live and die like all other living organisms. We think that our Earth may be the only planet in all the Universes with living organisms, but we may be wrong. There may be other planets that have developed under similar conditions and have had the extreme luck to form living things. This percentage is probably infinitesimally small and minute, which is why Earth is so special. All the living organisms on Earth have developed into such complex things, especially the human. We have adapted into such efficient bodies of carbon that we can accomplish numerous things, experience pain and pleasure, and learn about ourselves. All we can do is succeed in our societies and gain knowledge about life and the creation of the Universe through the Big Bang. We can also study quantum physics and subatomic particles to further enhance our knowledge and thought processes. Thank you very much.

Philosophers and Theologians have debated this question for eons. The bedate is still on. You can google it and still read the debates about this'meaning of life'. There is no such answer that would /could represent all the various entities in the universe. You can ; however, find your purpose in life.

Only you can answer this question as life has a different meaning to everyone.

You have to determine what life means to you rather than trying to be someone that you are not, thinking someone else holds the correct answer.

The answer they give is right for them but not necessarily correct for you.

Look deep within you to find what you seek.

Why are you so sure that there must be a meaning? We are here on this earth, and all our loves and hates, friends and enemies, obsessions and revulsions are here with us. *We*, ourselves are here and we are alive. Isn't that enough? It's sometimes foolish to look for deeper meanings in things, for there is none.

You are alive. Everyone you see around you are alive. You might have not been at all, for we are born by chance, from little probabilities that blossomed into life. You are alive where you might not have been, and you will someday no longer be. Enjoy it.

Today, I'm not sure. It's hard to remain optimistic when things happen, or when you just don't feel anything. Sometimes it's like you're walking through the day, and don't have any emotion. It's like you see what is going on, but you feel nothing. Other days it's like you're doing everything right and everyone's your friend. It's weird that we can feel such contrasting emotions from day to day. It kinda freaks me out sometimes, but I guess that's just the way life is.

Living your life to the fullest. Doing all the positive things you have been putting off. Enjoying one another. Loving one another. Appreciating the nature of life.

For me the meaning of life is to try an live it as God would wish.
To be an empathetic and helpful member of society.
To love my family, and as we are commanded, to try and love my neighbour.
Also to be kind to animals.
Finally to try to show others the joy of a trust in God and the hope of His coming kingdom.

If we knew the answer to that, what would be the point of living? Sometimes the journey is more important than the destination.
