I just wanna know if this is legal? The website copies all info from Yahoo Answers South Africa (even the personal ones) and post it on their web page as information on traveling to South Africa.

To all: It's not as bad as you think it is. It's not monitoring this section. It's only using the information we provide to help people answer their travel questions. What I'm worried about is the fact that it copies information directly. Exactly as it goes on Yahoo Answers South Africa. Even the non-travel questions are posted there.

I agree with you. While there were a lot of disagreements, at least, we were guaranteed less rhetoric full of nothing but sandy ideas. We knew that while there were two extremes (left and right) we would leave the site having learned something new. People would at worst think what to say. There was a general agreement that while some differed vastly with Bull, Brad, Alf, Wrrr..., Ayiza etc there would be good points raised (except that some felt that these members are racist) in almost every posting. Maybe the turn of events is a sign of real life in South Africa. Good people have been replaced by criminals. People feel encaged in their own space. Here, in our virtual life, intelligent discussions have made way for pure trash. We feel encaged in our own thinking. How sad!!!!

I noticed the same thing earlier. I posted a question, and a couple more answerers say that they have the same thing.
It's skeevy for other websites to declare us "members." What if it's a website with an ideology I can't stand? I understand that I've put the info out there, but I don't want it to seem that I've joined all these sites.
Thanks styvie for directing me over here.

I have personally came across some of our questions and answers while using Google to research things in SA. I was a bit surprised but not too worried. Google seem to list some of our Q&A's as sources.

ok, not good!!! it can take what we say totally out of context! i mean we are a community here and after a while you know what to expect from people, answer their questions accordingly, know what reactions they want from their questions, etc!!! (ok, took me a while... ;-) They can't just post it there directly!!!!!!!! why can't they just give a link to these pages?!

I guess if you can can copy-n-paste it, it's "legal". Also legal/illegal according to which country's laws? Control over the net...who has it and who can enforce it?
