"Since taking the majority, they have forced 40 votes on bills limiting President Bush’s war policy.

Not a single one has passed both chambers, even though both are run by Democrats. "

Isn't it time they understand that the public voted to end the war by winning it not by tucking tail and running away? Given their 23% approval rating (much lower than Bush's now) you would think they would finally get it.

Funny how this question brought out the AL Quida propaganda club huh? Check out the one loser who called our brave boys "meat". Bet he's working in a bunker in Iran somewhere... At least he can't vote... Throw him a thumbs down bomb please.

these anti America Maggots need to step aside and let those who know how. Get the job done. Go play in a sand box or something. We have pressing issues to deal with. They will be still voting on resolutions on Jan 21 2009 Some body will have to shake them and tell them Bush is not in office anymore, thats how out of touch they are.

1. You are wrong that the majority of the public is to stay the course. That's a lie and you know it.

2. The Senate needs a certain amount of votes to get legislation passed and to override vetos. There may be a majority of Dems in the Senate, but not enough votes.

3. The approval rating reflects poorly on all of Congress, not just the Dems.

It seems you forget the 3 war funding bills (passed by the House and the Senate) that the president has vetoed. These bills not only funded the war but also funded health care, education, and housing for veterans. While the Dems have a slim majority they do not have a veto proof majority in either house. The Dems were voted in to end the war period, not to end it by winning it, now is not the time to start re-writing history.

The problem stems from the fact that most Libs live in a theoretical world, instead of a practical one.

The facts here can't be denied, but I can assure you that other votes will continue.

Evidently you don't get basic civics like pelosi and reid don't get it.

Being in "control" of both chambers and having the required votes to over-ride a veto are two completely different things.

All they have to do is cut off funding...but they are like spineless jellyfish. They have passed more bills renaming post offices, court houses and roads than all other bills combined. Pathetic!

PUHLEEEAAASSSE, give it arrest. I hardly think a majority of one has any weight when you vote with your conscience as opposed to the part line.
