I just read a story on cnn.com that says we should exspect another 20 cents per gallon by decmeber. I already pay $3.39/gallon as of yesturday.
Should I just invest in a bicycle? What do you think the solution will be? What alternative fuels really can give us hope?

I like the segway idea. I only drive about 75 miles per week. work is only 2.5 miles away from home and the grocery store is next door (i walk there). I am a single guy with no family and only own 1 car. I think the real solution is alternative fuels. I wonder whats going to happen with BMW's H7?

If you are a two car family, garage the vehicle that uses the most gasoline. Make sure your vehicle is in prime runing condition. Take everything you can out of the trunk to lighten the load. Vote in people who care about the ecology and will support non-oil based energy companies. It might be cheaper over the course of a couple of years to invest in a Segue - I see a neighborhood man zipping all over the place on one. Alternatively, for neighborhood driving, maybe a small scooter like a Vespa.

i don't own a car and don't plan on it ever. invest in a nice hybrid bike or commuter bike. i never have to go to the gym, and i stay fit because i walk and bike everywhere i need to go. also look into public transport. the problem with alternative fuels is that we still have to use the raw materials and resources to build and maintain roads, parking lots waste a lot of space, and all of the pavement increases the urban heat island effect...not to mention sprawl, which demands extending our infrastructure (sewage, electricity, gas lines). do what works best for you. maybe bike a few days a week and only drive when you're running late or have a meeting.

It is way past time for Congress and the Senate to get us alternative oil fuels. They've been talking about this since 1973. It is almost 40 years past due.
Who knows! It may bring some peace in this troubled world.

I like the idea of using a motorcycle to get to work, but I think that only works if your job is pretty close to home. My job is almost 35 miles away, and I can't see myself putting on my business suit and getting on my hog.

Refuse to buy anything but necessities to get you through. Refuse to buy foreign goods. As the economy tanks the government will wake up. All they care about is if you continue to spend so their stocks will go up.
Vote Ron Paul.

In December I would think it would be too cold outside for biking. Maybe take taxis, because in some cases they are cheaper than taking your own vehicle. Maybe take turns driving to work with a co worker if you live close together. Take a bus, although buss stops would also be chilly.

As for me, i am just going to places that i really have to go. For instant just to work, school and the grocery store. Try to them as i am out, not go home and come back out. Taxi would be too high and bicycle to cold for dec.-feb. So hope that will help..
