Remember that tired argument about guns not killing people? It goes quadruple for martial arts. Martial arts are a set of techniques and exercises which comprise a whole. Out of 10 people who walk into a dojo, at least seven will move on to other things before gaining enough proficiency to make much of a difference. Don't go looking for the perfect system. Look for something you can stick with and that works for you.

Opinionated hit the nail right on the head.

This is the thing you have to realize, there is no such thing as the most dangerous martial art..point blank.

Now, you can say that there are training methods that are more realistic, and techniques that are more dangerous, but as far as the ART itself goes, that's a whole different ball game.........The "ART" part in martial arts is the person's own unique expression of combat.

Your own unique expression of combat can be rough, tumble, and you can use any technique in the world that you want to while fighting at that particular moment, but there is always someone in this world who can exploit your weakness and bring you down and there is someone that can bring them down, etc......... It's all like a big circle. That is why there is no such thing as one most realistic and dangerous art.

This is a cold hard FACT.

Bak Mei.

He was a MA master with a controversial past. He supposedly was instrumental in destroying Shaolin and killing the monks on the one hand... others say he was a spy who infiltrated the government to help the monks escape... I don't know what is the truth except that his fighting system is very vicious and deadly.

Here is a great sample of Bak Mei, a friend of mine studied at this school:

The most dangerous art is dictated by the artist, not the style that he uses. How you use any of those styles could make them the most dangerous or the most benign. Arts are tools, artists are those that use them to create. Remember that.

i like Jeet Kune Do as it takes the best parts from a lot of different martial arts and combines them in a free flowing form. If its good enough for Bruce Lee it will do for me.
