ok. if you want to do an assignment about australia you should realise that Australia is HUGE. there are many different classifications of areas, metropolitan, rural etc.
If you want to do an interesting assignment I would suggest that you don't do it on a metropolitan area, its not that interesting, it pretty much the same as any other western coutry.
A good place for you to look at would be the Northern Territory, namely Uluru (aka Ayers Rock). There is the interest of Uluru with is on of the 7 wonders of the world, a great population of national wildlife like the kangaroo, koala, bilby not to mention dingoes
there is also a lot of indiginous communities also
You can look it up by googling etc
try looking up Northern territory tourism, government, entertainment websites
