Keep reading. Notice that in Verse 30 he says that:
30 For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up aseed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things. Notice that God says he can command at any for the rules to change. Which he did with Joseph Smith. I personally think that Plural marriage would be really hard. Imagine that you had 6 wives. It would be possible that one of them would be in those certain 5 days each month ALL MONTH long. The only reason that Joseph Smith was commanded to do so was because Momons had been decimated by Christians in Illinois and there were many, many widows. The Lord revoked that commandement in the 1880s and it is only offshoot splinter groups that still practice it. IF you are LDS and you practice plural marriage you will be excommunicated.

This is simply because he chose to ignore it. As some Christians do by putting greater emphasis on certain parts of the Bible and neglecting other parts.

To the first answerer, mormons continually claim that they ARE christians. The book of mormon is an ADDITION to the bible.
So your assumption is wholly wrong...
