I give this SAHM huge points for creativity & guts! She says she is stationed overseas so I know for a fact that can be overwhelming and cost prohibitive for a family vacation in many ways. My DH is a Marine and that is indeed a USMC uniform. I think she is being very honest and not giving some sad sappy story to gain sympathy (like I have a sick kid, my dog died, we have a ton of debt, etc). They are responsibe and creative; just not able to get a well deserved break. We've all been there.
Look in the background of the pics too, these folks look clean and neat and not overburdened with "stuff". She put there faces out there and if you are concerned in the least she welcomed personal questions so write her and see what happens. It looks like she has 3 items for sale in this same fashion so I think she is just being creative and using the resources she has available to her.
As a military wife I say if you want to help them and have the means, do it! Civilians oftentime have no idea what it is like for a military family overseas and I applaud your desire to do something kind for them.

The uniform is real and the item is authentic but I think she is over pricing the flight part.I know the military have cheaper rates than that but she might have to go by standby which probably wouldn't work if you have a cruise scheduled (you could be bumped if someone more important needs a lift). I know the military do not make a lot of money even though they are risking their lives. Buy the article if you like it. If they don't go on a vacation they can still use the money.

In these instances follow the guidelines of so many honest and concerned people like yourself and I. Trust everyone but do your research. In today's world of technology I would find a way to communicate with these people or perhaps call the local police station where they live and inquire about their situation. Everyone in a neighborhood knows a Marine. good luck

The uniform is probably real but I wouldn't touch that with any amount of money. You don't really know how this person got a hold of this. People will do anything to make a quick buck. At the very least this is in very poor taste and is in my opinion is disgraceful. I wasn't a Marine (Army) and it pisses me off.

I think it's for real. He's in a real marine corp uniform. But I think it's a little over priced. And it seems to me she's using him being in the service. Good luck and God Bless you!

I think the family is Legit, but I think this is.... overblown. 1, it's a bit low using the military to garner sympathy to up the bidding. The collectible is only worth about $40.

The uniforms are all legit, but I wouldn't bid on it purely from the standpoint that she is preying on good intending people like you. If she was just selling it in a normal auction maybe... but in my opinion she is taking advantage of his uniform so they can go on a cruise. There are plenty of cheaper vacations overseas that cost less than a third of that.
