Just be careful you don't get a married one or a nut case. Never meet them in private, always in a public place. I would also advise taking a friend with you until you feel comfortable with them.

I have meant this guy by the name of Marvin, he was great, we clicked right away, we went on chatting for months and then he asked for my numbers, i gave them to him and he called right away, his voice was great, it was no where near i have imagined, it was warm and so full of passion, he never asked for my picture so we were just calling each other and chatting wthout having to see each other, its great to just think of this strong voice and smile without having to think of the face,
we still call each other but we don't know each other, internet dating can be fun sometimes.

Met my wife here on Yahoo Personals. It worked for us. You never know how its going to happen so don't leave internet dating out.
