Those that are the most vocal about their disdain for the police don't have the balls to be a criminal. Real criminals don't waste time with that sort of thing, punks do.

Surely there are no cops out there with anytime on the job that think we are doing some great service to society. Society doesn't know what the hell it wants and is too fragmented to form a cohesive opinion. Due to the 'catch and release' criminal justice system,at the end of the day law enforcement is just grown ups playing cops and robbers. Everybody else (especially the critics) are simply spectators whose opinion means dick.

Opine away lad, that way I'll know you aren't a criminal. Not a real one anyway.

Have to say the thin blue line has and still is suffering from very bad everything. Ok thats a broad statement, bare with me.
I was on the job a 5th generation cop havin seen what the bloody job did to my Dad and several other family members (me included) I can say without fear of contradiction, "Walk a mile in my shoes"
Civil liberties have their place, I've seen them abused and didn't like it. But they rule the roost now and thats too one sided
The Police Force, not (Service) is now just another political tool, to be manipulated and stuffed about at the whim of our elected and other 'elements'
I have mates with between 5 and 15yrs service, family in various countries who quite regularly throw their hands up and wonder why they joined up.
For example; the job you do now, do you like it?
When some yoyo gives you a serve, how would you feel? Am guessing but lets be straight here you don't like it right.
The powers to be in the commisioned ranks are political animals and largely ego centred.
Like the bosses in your work place they rarely back the troops. The job isn't what it was, there is no respect, the morons out there want you when they are in trouble and use you as punching bag 95% of the time.
The law which we try to enforce is full of character actor legal types who delight in making us look stupid. We never had 4yrs of legal training or the benefit of a team of leagl reserachers, we saw it, we investigated it and took it to court. At best we are para legals. The decks are stacked against us.
The job is way to political and too many precious egos and jealousies cos someone else got the promotion and officer "X or "W" reckons they were better. Sound familiar, just we have more responsibility to the public.
Of late some police have added to the misery and dragged a lot of hard working blokes and gals down. They got too cocky and too important for themsleves.
Next time you get an ear full from a customer of yours think yourself lucky you aren't in a blue shirt.
In the ABC Aust series Janus Simon Westaways character Noddy says "TJF" the jobs f#@!%d
You might not respect us 95% of the time, just be glad we are when you do!!!!!

I don't expect anyone to kiss my chisled *** for anything! But I find it ironic that most people that have already posted the usual "F the Police" or other Police hater rhetoric are the first ones to demand that everyone else kiss their butts.

Treat me polite, I will do so in turn. Ask a serious and honest question, I'll give you a straight answer from my point of view. Act like a jerk or ask a snotty question, you'll be treated in kind.

Regardless of your personal opinion of police officers, one thing you need to understand is that whether an officer is a Barney Fife or a Sherlock Holmes, he/she has voluntarily decided to place himself on the thin blue line between the law abiding citizenry and those that would seek to tear it all down with violence, larceny and humanity destroying drugs. When he/she makes the decision to pin on a badge, that decision is made with the full realization that the cost of that decision may be his/her life, generally for a smaller annual income than the manager of your local 7-11. Excuse us if we think that that commitment entitles our profession to a bit of respect.

That "Them against Us" attitude some of the jerks on here rant about DOES exist, but the "THEM" is the criminal element of our society and those who condone crime and the "US" is everyone else including the police.

You don't have to like police officers. You can even blame the police officer for YOUR ignorant inability to follow a few simple rules if you want . But unless you've got the Courage, Dedication, and Integrity to step up to the line, please understand that a police officer may not place much value on your opinion about what the police should do and how they should act.

If you come into this forum condoning crime or complaining about the tactics a police officer used the last time they caught you COMMITTING A CRIME then you are a criminal no matter whose butt you kiss.

PS Thanks for the "Thumbs Down" I know which side of the line it came from :)

It is because of the Us against Them syndrome. Basically police do not trust anybody but other police. Every one is a suspect to the police. Plus coupled with a mammoth dose of" I am a superior Human being" attitude that most police posses, makes for much prejudice against normal civilians.

Don't know that all of them do think that way. Do you??

Way too many people have a tendency to trash the police until they themselves need something. Then......... Well at least as long as the police do, or tell them, what they want to see or hear. If not, then they accuse the police of "not doing anything." Are you one of those people??? I hope not!!!

We don't assume that everyone that doesn't kiss our butt is a criminal. Most of them are criminals. The rest are just ignorant morons.

possibly because of fact it wasnt an smart question hence. its not often a "fantasy" that rape is a violent crime. and no, he shouldnt be "positioned down" for asking a question, i replaced into speaking greater alongside the traces of all and sundry thinking that rape isnt a violent crime has some marbles loose....ive by no ability ordinary a female rapist, doesnt mean they dont exist, yet considering the fact that ive no longer ordinary of any i cant talk on that one now am i able to. curiously a number of you "adult adult males" would desire to do the comparable...once you have been there, then you definately can be certain what style of crime it fairly is. seems to me a non-violent crime wouldnt bypass away loads of fricking scars.

without creating this kind of situation, the police will have no job to do, so they creat this kind of situation and make themselves busy pretending to do wonderful job, in actual sense they know who the real criminal are but however, they carry others innocent people along to creat credibility for themselves
