If a government is run without corruption and the foibles of man, it can indeed be for the benefit of mankind.

Most, but not all, Mormons usually vote Republican as it seems to be most inline with Mormon values. Abortion is not in keeping with Mormon doctrine and many Democrats support abortion.

Yes most vote Republican. There are a great many who do not. It is far less monolithic than many other minority groups. It would even out if the Democrats adopted stronger family values. In Utah and other Mountain States, the Democrats probably are more conservative than nationally.
