Same here...
I shun drugs... and of cos cannot comprehend how people can be addicted to drugs and it's abuses.
On a shallow basis... i think the only good thing is all addicts are SO pencil thin.
I detest alcohol and too much of it gives me a terrible hangover. So no fun in that either. Maybe an over indulgences will make the body immune to the effects of alcohol and thus leads to alcoholism if taken without control.

Everyone has a personal preference when it comes to their chosen vices. Some people prefer drinking, others prefer food, gambling, pot, cigarettes, harder drugs etc. It doesn't really matter what you get addicted to, it has ultimately the same result...horrid.
Just be grateful that alcohol isn't your demon and that you never meet him anywhere else.

It is a substance that alters your state of mind and its not the taste that attracts people. Its tolerance that is built that causes people to drink more and become addicted. People rely on it for different reasons...it makes them forget, it makes them feel good, it makes them numb*.

Drinking alcohol goes in stages. It relaxes and then intoxicates, it removes social inhibitions. The key is to not let it become associated with escaping from life's problems.
