The thing is, I want to start boxing.

Problem is, everytime I punch a boxing bag my knuckles start to swell. How come they are doing this?

It happens everytime I punch something hard. I know how to punch properly because I have already done boxing for a few months.

A "Hard-Hitters" knuckles swell when you even fart, lol, kidding of course, but they do tend to swell real easy. It's because the cartilage there is real close to the skin with no muscle covering it, so they bruise easily. The only thing you can do is wrap them really good with your hand-wraps, and then use bag-gloves over those. I think there still 4 oz. gloves, (The bag glove, but not sure) Anyways, that's really all you can do son. I Boxed for the U.S.Army for 10 years, so i know what hell those swollen knuckles can bring. I'll tell ya, it's no-miracle-cure, but soak them in a bucket, (Bowl) of ice if they hurt to bad. it takes allot of the discomfort away, and takes the swelling down also. Really all you can do. Good luck in there son, Keep a stiff jab in their face. Take Care and God-Bless to You and Yours. 1st. Sgt., 7th Special Forces, (Ret.) Vietnam 67-70

get yourself a good pair of bag gloves. Not the ones that come with the bag and look like mittens. Those are garbage.
Get a pair of 12 oz. bag gloves . They cost about $50,
but protect your hands pretty well. Under the gloves, make sure your hands are wrapped properly. Get a good set of wraps for about $5 and have a trainer or fighter show you how to use them. It makes all the difference in the world.
You could also hit a lighter bag with more give to it, but I would suggest the gloves and wraps anyway. Good luck.

wrap your hands well and use a QUALITY pair of well padded bag gloves. Title or Ringside online sell good ones. don't buy the light ones

their is a chinese topical treatment called "dit dot jau" (spelling?) which helps reduce recovery time

if they hurt to much cut back on power and do more shadow boxing and speed/technique work

it may be related to arthritis. I doubt you're at that age on account which you stated you purchased right into a combat. Wrap your knuckle up in bandage- attempt to no longer circulate that hand lots. I remember my sister slamming the door in direction of index finger. happened an prolonged time in the past too, and it nonetheless hurts to on the present time , it particularly is, every time i bend it forward. there's no longer lots you're able to do. circulate to the physician , or in simple terms cope with it. I in simple terms dealt with it. did no longer prefer to waste money on my index finger if it particularly is no longer that undesirable. playstation . Get coverage in case you are able to? See in the adventure that your activity grants it.
