I am interested in buying a rifle in 257 roberts but can find many companies that make it in this caliber. I was wondering if someone knows a few rifle brands that make a gun that uses 257 roberts.

Ruger makes its M77 in .257 Roberts. The MSRP is $750. Remington and Browning currently make no rifles in this caliber, but both chamber for .25-06, and Browning for the 25 WSSM, which are both a little hotter.

Although, as stated previously, Remington no longer makes a .257 Roberts, you can still find them in the model 760 at gun shows. I have Game Master 760's in .300 Savage and .257 Roberts. I love the .300 savage for brush country and the .257 rivals my .20-06 in the open.(Not quite the same range, but very flat shooting.)

As stated above, Ruger does still make a .257 Roberts, and the MSRP may be $700 or more. But in the real world if you look around you can find them for less than $500 new.

Go to GUNSAMERICA or Gunbroker.Com and check under caliber 257 Roberts. It was and is a very nice caliber. We have many calibers like that lurking around; then something new and improved comes along to create sales and demand for something else. There were and are a number of manufacturers of the 257.

to my knowledge ruger is the only one chambering the 257 roberts ,but something to think about ,unless your wanting to just add to your collection, the 257 is a fine round but it is a old round not many people make it any more as you hace dicovered and ammo is not as widly avaliabe as it once was so you might want to think of another round say the 25 06 if you want to stay with 25 cal.
