I can't believe how negative people get about answers given to questions on religion. It's actually worse than the politics section. Seeing how fast people get upset and angry in regards to religion, is that why more wars are started over religion than politics?

right on the money mate!

in politics, we touch a very limited number of people under the governance or influence of politics itself. moreover, political beliefs are more often non-personal but more of a rewarding arena.

religion also has more personal feelings to more people that is why more people react-sometimes positively but more often negatively. more negatives because there too many religions around and too many beliefs that differ. these beliefs are very personal to the people and people tend to get easily frustrated if their beliefs are attacked in one way or another. what we need to do is open our minds, that we are not supposed to monopolize the world with our religions and beliefs. we may need to spread our faith but do it with due respect to others. we should not impose what we think is right, rather should we be open to what we can learn from others views.

Believe it or not, At least I believe no matter how stupid a religion looks to an outsider. He should give that religion the same respect as he would give his own religion.
Well people get more upset over religion because directly or indirectly when a person comments on some else’s religion, someone else may feel it as an attack on his or her religion, even though it may not be, but still the idea that you would comment is preposterous to that individual.
Like the other day one idiot commented by saying does god masturbate and I was most defiantly offended by that statement because I am a God believing person. I was also Very Angry at that person.
Just like the racus crated by the prophet Mohammad Cartoon which was published.

History proves, that the longer we can keep politics and religion separate, the better off we will be.

One other thing, I once heard a Pastor answer a question about job priorities in an interesting way.

A young person asked him if he would ever consider running for President of the United States, or Governor, or Mayor even?

The Pastor said, "I would never consider taking a step down from my current post."

The stakes in the Spiritual world are Eternal, therefore of much more value. Why settle for the things of the temporal world?

I have had many questions about Catholics deleted and flagged. They do not like people questioning them.

Yes wars are often started over religion. If you talk politics you are attacking gov officials or countries. When you talk religion people take it personally. It is as though you are attacking them or their God personally.

Christ plainly stated that the world hates him. Why?
Because when Satan tempted Christ, and told Him he would be give the rule over all nations if he worshiped Satan, Jesus didn't argue that Satan couldn't do this, did he?
No. Because the Bible calls Satan the Prince of the World and that he is like a hungry lion, walking too and fro seeking to devour whom he can.
This is talking about us! So those that follow Satan and are his, even though they know it not, hate God and his Christ, and those that follow Him, because their leader hates all things as well, including His church and all who belong to Christ. (I believe this also includes those Jews that also follow God, though they be mistaken about their Messiah)
I hope this answers your question. Your either for or against God, so if you've noticed the vitriol against Christmas and Christians, you now know where it comes from, and it ain't pretty.

because people are offending each others internal and mortal beliefs ... so they strive to defend it ...

specially that religion is relative to some of them ....

and then again you have those who do not believe in any of this thinking that it is all BS... so this is where the fire starts.
