how would the war against terrorism be like for USA if Russia starts arming and supporting AL qaeda and Taliban to the same extend as USA and its allies helped them to fight soviet union in Afghanistan during the cold war? terrorists may think that they with the help of Allah defeated the soviets but we know better , don't we?

There is no such thing as a "war on terror". It's just a slogan for the weak minded and easily led. Terror is a mental state and terrorism is a tactic. One can make war on neither.

If the Russians supplied al-Qaeda to the same extent we supported the insurgents in Afghanistan, the stories would have similar endings. We provided the Mujahedin with intel, weapons, and trained their fighters. In Iraq, the insurgents have Russian weapons, but so does 3/4 of the world. You can't swing a dead cat in the third world and not hit someone holding an AK-47. I think our tactics are superior to those used by the Soviets in the '70s in Afghanistan, so in that respect we would fare better. But, in the end, I think if the Russians supplied, funded, and trained our opponents (in both countries) we'd have a much more difficult time there.

lower back you should end this believe that those terrorist in elementary terms believe in Allah because of the fact the main suitable source of their victory. If this replaced into the case they does no longer be carrying around kolishnikovs and bombs. the clarification why they convey those weapons is via the fact additionally they understand good judgment, attitude, and the performance of human thinking. they are attentive to the worldy benefit of financial and militia help that should win them victories like what they have been given from u.s.. Now related to Russia. in the event that they have been to start using Al Qaeda and Taliban to circulate against us i does no longer be suprised. have you ever heard of the asserting "The enemy of my enemy is my buddy"? Our government has an prolonged and working history of turning on and stale help for countless terrorist companies international extensive all disguised in and below the flag of democracy. If Russia rises to power or perhaps China, I doubt it they are going to be as beligerent as our government is international extensive. i think of they'll only be an equilibrium.

If the Russians were stupid enough to openly do this it would ensure their destruction. Not from America, but from China. The only thing China hates more than a liberal American is an Islamic terrorist. China has a big chip on their shoulder.
