Sex is extremely natural and healthy for you. It improves mood, it's exercise, and it's fun. The only time that sex is unhealthy is if it is causing you harm in any way. If sex upsets you, makes you feel guilty, or causes you physical harm...that's not healthy. The main health concern related to sex is sexually transmitted disease. The best way to avoid STDs is to always use protection (latex condoms are the most effective if used properly), get tested for STDs (both you and your partner should do this and share the results with each other), and to only have one sexual partner at a time. Even if you and your partner both get tested, you should still ALWAYS use protection. Some STD tests can have false results, and some STDs don't have tests. For example, there is no HPV (genital warts) test for men, and people don't always have visible signs of infection.
If you have sex responsibly, use protection, one partner at a time, and it makes you feel good...it's very healthy for you. Have fun!
Also, a lack of sex is not harmful as long as it isn't making you unhappy. If you are content with abstinence, it will not harm you at all. However, if you strongly desire sex and sexual attention and aren't getting any, the lack of it may cause you some depression, self-esteem issues, and other sorts of problems that affect you emotionally. If this is the case, seek counseling and try to come up with some ideas to find healthy sexual companions and relationships. Good luck!

Hello,
(ANS) The answer to this question is YES! & No! & depends??
**Is sex healthy for you?
Well if you are physically fit with no long term physical health problems such as heart problems or respiratory disease etc. And if you are in a loving, intimate relationship with someone. i.e. have a partner or lover or girl friend or boy friend. Then yes! loving sex can be both enjoyable and strengthen the bond of intimacy you both have. And so in that sense sex can be very important and good for your mental emotional well being. Sex is a very important foundation for a relationship but ideally sex is an expression of love , perhaps my view is a little old fashioned?
**There is definitely a huge amount of utter non sense talked about the subject of sex and how often you should have it and so on. We live in a sex obsessed society and culture.
**There is also definitely sex which is poor quality, unhappy, cold or inappropriate, sex which is devoid of any loving or closeness (i.e. sex without intimacy or mechanical sex, this is the kind of sex which prostitutes offer). So I guess you could call this unhealthy sex if you like?
**Its a complete myth that we have to have sex as often as possible, or have to have sex to be complete as a person. Or have to have sex like rabbits to be normal. No! there is nothing wrong with NOT having sex at all or being celibate. NOT having sex shouldn't have any bad or negative effects upon a persons mental or emotional well being. You can be a normal healthy rational human being and go through life without sex at all.
**I'd rather have loving sex & intimacy with someone I love and can be close with than anything else. Anything else is just lust, which is like an annoying itch that needs to be scratched but is not ultimately very satisfying.

sex releases endorphines that produce good feeling and that lowers your stress level making you feel good.. just like chocolate! is healthy and natural! and u dont HAVE to be with someone! its a one person sport too * yeh i know *w*****RS
funny! but that is how you all find out in your youth what u like and how u like it.. so u bring that into a relationship! whats the point in a fumble when u tell ur partner what u like/ he likes and vice versa.. so u can get on with feeling SO GOOD!
nothing to be embarrassed about!
its when sex is used for violence that it becomes dangerous for one and sick for another! you wont be unheathy love just frustrated so close the door go too bed and get some !

i think it's a natural desire which should not be suppressed for the sake of it. we are designed to have s ex after all.
it is unhealthy if you can't control it, if it takes over your life, if you use it as a control tool or to hurt others psychologically or violently. However it's a natural part of expressing yourself to another person (preferably with love involved) and for that reason it's very healthy.

If is sex you are asking: well
Yes sex is healthy, but if u don't know your partner's status, rather condomise.
Sex is also an exercise because when u do it all ur muscles stretch smoothly.
Lack of it will not harm you, if u don't have sex your life will just be normal, there is nothing wrong with not having sex, if one has no desire for it there is absolutely nothing wrong.

Best form of exercise I can think of.
Abstinence shouldn't affect your mental state unless you are obsessed.
Unless you are doing something you aren't or your partner isn't comfortable with, then there should be no problems.
