What is the test about before entry/citizenship is allowed ?
Do I have to have a knowledge of American history ?
Do I have to understand your Electoral system ?

Is there a web-site that describes these or any other requirements ?

I don't think you'll have to take this until you're eligible for actual citizenship, but I hope this is what you're looking for.
Sample Citizenship INS test:

And here's a list of a lot of resources for immigration:

Good luck and welcome!

If you are Australian and coming to our country legelly, then you are most welcome to be here. Most Americans are so sick of being inundated with illegal aliens, they are cautious to answer anything. Please don't judge us harshly for being wary. In fact, anyone from anywhere who enters our nation legally is welcome but as you can see we are more than twice burned, more like 30 million burned by illegal aliens, and we are also that shy of new people. Try to understand how it is for us to have the burden of supporting this many illegal people. You are welcome in advance. I believe that you need to be a legal resident for 5 years before you are eligible to take a test for citizenship.

i don't know. i never took the test, however, you will be able to find classes that prepare you specificly for the test.

i do know the test has some general american history questions, general knowledge stuff and civics questions. i think almost everyone who studies for it passes it...it's very easy. you will do just fine! come on over and leave the car bombs at home! LOL (just kidding...sort of)

just joking about the car bomb. we have all kinds of crazy immigration issues in the U.S. at this time. mostly involving illegal aliens coming over from mexico to work. most folks have no issues with anyone from anywhere who comes here LEGALY.... any how, come on over and welcome aboard mate!

You need more detail. You usually only have to do all of the knowledge based stuff when you apply to be a citizen..... not for a visa or a green card.

Personally being long term military for one....... Aussies are more than welcome in the US.
