My ex boyfriend broke up with me over 3 years ago when I moved away from college and he couldnt handle the long distance. He is also seven years older and said "we're both living seperate lives." Ever since he broke it off, he hasnt been able to let go. He continuously calls me, says he misses me etc. I recently found out he has a new girl and was shocked, and kinda hurt. Why does he still tell me he loves me and misses me if he has a new girlfriend? GUYS: what do you think?

He loves you so much that no girl can satisfy him like you do. I've been there and it feels like torture, get back with him.

Does your ex bf told that he loves you and misses you when he had his new girlfriend or he told you that before he had a new girlfriend ? Maybe due to your absence your ex realized how much he loved you. The problem with him only he doesn't believe in long distance loved affairs. Since he thinks both of you will be hopeless he just diverted his feelings to other people maybe to permanently forget you. You don't know real reason behind why he found a new girlfriend. I guess don't take it seriously about what he told he still loves and misses you since both of you already broked up. Just believe him once he did something impossible just to be with you and be each in each others arms again.

The guy avoids pain from your long distance relationship, he really loves you from letting you go, have college and dont suffer the pains from a long distance realtionship, he wants you to move on... to bad he cant... if he has a new gf iit doesnt mean he doesnt love you anymore.

Well, you don't know for sure how close he is to his new girlfriend, nor do you know for certain if he does have a new girlfriend.
it could be that he tried to replace the void he felt when he left you, or it could be something else.
Most likely, it's too hard to tell. The best way is to ask one of his friends how he and his new girlfriend are doing. Or maybe even talk to his girlfriend about it, but don't tell her that he is sending you messages.
Lastly, confront him about it verbally and see what he has to say about it.

purely a case of confussion. he might really love you, but since he cant see you or hold you the new girl is providing that for him. plus he could have a feeling of denial or unacceptacne. many guys refuse to believe that they are no longer in relationships that were good.

i think she still want you but as you said can't handle a long distance relationship but i also think that if you aren't far away from him your still together now that's why she's still calling you up cause he still have a feelings for you
