this guy is a shady mean jerk, just a total a hole, is it normal to feel some kind of weird attraction towards him even though you know he is very toxic and bad

People follow patterns in their lives. Careers, social lives, love lives, all follow patterns. Could you be attracted to this guy because he reminds you of someone in your life who is equally toxic? A family member or close friend? Maybe you've just started getting your life in order and this guy reminds you of the life you're leaving behind. There is a certain amount of security to be had in the familiar even if the familiar is poisonous.
Look to your own life to find out what hole you're filling with this guy.

I can understand being attracted to someone rebellious with a bad boy side, but the guy you're describing sounds way beyond that. That can't be good on any level, even on a casual level. Stay away from him.

Girls who are attracted to bad boys often get hurt. They often have issues of their own with self esteem and need to get them sorted.
The absolute rule is that recognise that you are attracted to bad men, that they are exciting but the hurt is never worth the fun. And the hurt gets worse each time as the more bad boys you go out with - the more your self esteem will go down.
trust me - they are not worth it.
Enjoy them from a distance - but always chose the nerdy, daggy guys - they end up making better husbands, lovers and providers!
