I have talked about this before; me and probably only a few thousand others have this hope, it's based more on hope than belief, I guess, that everyone who ever existed will one day go to Heaven.

Well regardless of whether or not it's potentially true, why do people react negatively to such an idea? The biggest counter argument being, "So you think Hitler and Stalin should go to Heaven?" Well, let me ask you this, whether you believe in a Heaven or not, if everyone went, all was forgiven, all was reconsiled, everybody was to spend the rest of time with people they loved, and even the worst of people were reformed, what would be so wrong with that?

Well, I personally think (again) it's all about the "retaliatory mind". Evil breeds a desire to punish the "evil doers", and thus, breeds more evil. It is my own suspicion that the Bible seems to make a good number of references to "Universalism", and perhaps this idea will catch on as it did 1800 years ago. (more to come in details)

So why are there references to some type of "hell" in the major religions? I don't know. Maybe it is impossible to get people to belive without the idea, maybe religious leaders invented for control, maybe hell is not permanant. Or maybe it is. But I find it increasingly difficult to believe that if an all loving God is here with us, that he would damn anyone forever. We wouldn't do that to our loved ones no matter what, right? Are we more loving than God? I would guess not.

"Ultimate Reconciliation" is way of giving a person hope in putting off the enevitable. They gonna pay one day. It's like a religious spirit credit card without ever having to pay it off. It isn't true.

There is nothing wrong in your hope and belief, and petty judgement does not help a person in a positive manner, even though I am a spiritualist I concede that you have quite a good point there about evil breeds evil, its the eye for an eye too. these wonderful teachings can be taken right out of context by the beholder ,especially the self proclaimed christian who has never read the old scriptures or anything else for that matter to be able to constructively use full in the whole debate.Words are power full things but when they are not deciphered with a pure heart they can be damaging. For example the fishes and loaves; The food from one basket fed 1000,but when we decipher this in its real context,it was not actually a meal that these people were presented with it was spiritual knowledge they ate till they were full. that was the miracle they were shown a new way to think and to live. Yes It would be nice if things were simple as they were but really I prefer today people are only as far away as an email to reach and talk to and there is definitely a lot more food for thought out there now. love and light

The idea of a loving God sending people to hell for eternity is not easy to accept. Why would God, who is full of mercy and grace, send people to a place of torment for ever and ever for not trusting in Jesus even though they are nice people, or never heard of Jesus, or were sincerely trying to find God? Is that fair? Is that right?
When people ask these questions, they are appealing to what they perceive as fairness. They are looking at the issue from their human perspective. But this perspective is not necessarily the right one. If God exists, and He does, then it is He who is the One who says what is right and fair, not us. So, we need to see what the Bible says about what is right regarding sin and salvation and make a decision afterwards.
The Bible tells us that God is righteous. "God is a righteous judge," (Psalm 7:9). His righteousness is part of His character just as are mercy and love. Righteousness deals with justice and justice deals with the Law. This means that God will always do that which is right and He does so according to the righteous Law that He has set forth. God cannot do anything wrong. God must do that which is right, otherwise He would not be righteous.
Yes, God must punish those who break His law because it is the right thing to do. Just as a parent should punish a child for doing something wrong (intentionally), so God must punish those who do wrong. You see, if God did not punish the person who does wrong, then He would be unjust and unrighteous. He would be breaking His own law -- which He cannot do. But, someone might say that the punishment of a parent on a child is temporary whereas God's punishment is eternal. Why the difference? The answer is two fold. First, God is infinite and a parent is not. Second, God is the standard of all righteousness and the parent is not.
Because God is infinite, when we sin, we are offending an infinite God. This is incredibly significant. The reason sin is so bad is not so much because of the one committing the sin, but because of the One who is offended. In other words, sin is so incredibly bad because it takes on a horrible quality by the very fact of who it is against: an infinitely pure, holy, and righteous God.
A parent is not the standard of righteousness. God is. A parent is (or should be) using the righteous standard of God in raising children. Therefore, though a parent's punishment is temporary because it is instruction and correction, the punishment of God is eternal because our sin is against an eternal God. There is a big difference.

I believe the reaction is harsh because people like me do not feel that horrible people should be allowed to enjoy anything in life or death. I am not evil in any way shape or form. I am not the one who harms others ie: molest children, murder, rape etc... I just do not believe in the existence of a god yet I am always told I am damned to hell. So when someone tells me this but in turn says a child molester only has to pray for forgiveness and he/she will be forgiven and enter heaven, I tend to get a bit testy.

the bible cleary states things about hell so it will exist. it doesnt yet cuz it isnt forever. it happens at the end of time when god comes to get his followers & destroys the devil for good. the hellfire destroys him & the demons & then thats it. no more hell. so it doesnt exist yet...its just the judgement day thing.

a lot of people think hell is as eternal as heaven cause the bible says something like "in the lake of fire (hell) forever" this forever does NOT mean eternity...it just means forever...until your life is over. eternity is dif from forever bibilically speaking.

(think of married lovers...they say to each other "i'll love you forever"....but once they dead...its finished. thats why the last vow "til death..." if the 2 end up in heaven together..then they can stay together...)

so how long can you last in a fire? 10 minutes? if the smoke doesnt get you first. that's about as long as "hell" will exist.

not everyone will go to heaven. lucifer (the best angel of all in the begining...now the devil...satan...) will never go back. neither will any of his friends.

I too would like to believe that eventually everyone goes to heaven. I think a part of me still does, especially since I've lost loved ones that I don't think DID make it to heaven. However, there's nothing in the Bible to back that hope up, and I live my life by the precepts of the Bible. I don't know why people would react excessively negatively to the question, unless they were just concerned that your were deceiving yourself. Then again, there are lots of wackos who call themselves Christians. Maybe your question is bringing them out of the woodworks.

you are a 5 yr old child sitting on the sidewalk playing in the mud and making mud pies. you make 6 pies. after a bit you realize 2 of the pies just don't look right, so you smash them.

were you cruel? no. did you create those mud pies and have the ability to destroy what you created? yes. why did you choose to destroy some? they weren't exactly what you wanted.

Same with all you speak. G_D is loving and created us all. But if you care not to follow his rules and laws set forth, then He does not care to have you with him after wards. As you didn't end up as what He wanted. Just as the mud pie wasn't as what you wanted. The mud pies weren't evil, wicked or bad, but they just didn't fit the rules that you set forth, as the creator of the pies.

Now this is very basic level thinking but it gets the point across on how it works.

Plus the bible even states that people who don't want to follow his book, aren't with him. So if you really are with him, better study up, cause there is a hell, a lake of fire, an eternity of not being with Him. Its not a fable.

2Timothy 4:3
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Hell shows up in 50 some passages. Little hard to fake.

The thing that would be "so wrong with that," is that a man like Jesus, who didn't commit a single sin, and a man like Hitler would be in the same place, on the same plane, "reformed" the same.

Imagine your daughter was raped by a man. That man was convicted to life in jail. Would you find closure in the fact that one day, that man will be on the same level as you in heaven, enjoying it just the same? If there's one thing humanity agrees on, it's that certain people deserve eternal punishment for their horrible and disgusting actions here on earth.

You get a bad reaction because people are afraid it is true.

All mankind is born with a sin nature inherited from Adam and Eve. Because of this all need the Savior Jesus Christ. He became sin on the cross so his rightousness could be imputed to us. If we receive Him, we receive the Holy Sprit to help us live.

Most refuse salvation. Jesus said they would. Wide is the road that leads to destruction and many are on it. Narrow is the road that leads to life and few there be that find it. That narrow road is Jesus.

Very few give little to no thought to eternity. It is the most important thing in life we should give thought to.

That's like the old question I think it was Origen who asked it
'Can Satan be forgiven?' It was defended by Candidus on the ground that Satan is beyond repentance, Origen replied that if Satan fell by will even he can repent. Demetrius of Alexandria, incensed at Origen's ordination, was appalled by such doctrine, and instigated a synodical condemnation. Check all of this out as its well worth reading about, as well as the story of the Bible in a good encyclopedia. Why they act bad because they tend to protect their religion even if all the facts get out of wack.
