Lets say I give my 3 weeks notice on Dec. 7th that I'd like to stop working Jan 1st (yet I get Dec 24th through Jan 1st off, paid). Should I do this or just leave as of Dec 24th and have my new employer pay for my week vacation?

I'm 50/50 on this one.. I find it weird to have my last week on the job as being a vacation. I also find it weird to have my first week on the job as being vacation.

I did the same thing once. I got married and took one week off as vacation. This was previously arranged. Then I went back to work and resigned 1 week later.

So what I did was write the boss a letter stating I was giving 3 weeks notice. I would be working one week, taking the 1 week vacation already arranged (getting married) and then coming back to work one extra week before resigning. Boss had no problem with this, and thats exactly what happened. The last week I was working, I was taken off my duties and given little things to do.

If you want your vacation, make arrangements for it now. Then closer to the date, do not give notice until 2 weeks before you leave, which of course should include your vacation. But if they let you go the day after you give notice, then they should pay you any accrued vacation owing, in your last pay check.

You can be laid off once you give notice, and you would only be owed the amount of vacation you have accrued. Your new company will NOT pay for your one-week vacation between Christmas and New Year's unless you have that in writing (I rather doubt that would happen). Just give the notice and ask about the vacation--they have the right to choose whether to lay you off earlier than expected, allow you to take the time off, or have you work til the said you would and then pay you for your vacation in cash (which they probably won't want to do).

You would still employed through the end of December so you would be due that paid vacation but like was already suggested you would probably be let go before that time.

I've never heard of an employer that will give you a week of paid vacation before you have actually worked for them but that sure would be sweet.

If you have vacation time coming, your current employer should pay you for it. Give your notice for your last day to be 12/23.

As to "having your new employer pay for your week vacation" - I don't know where you are going to work, but it would be very unusual that you'd have vacation coming to you as soon as you started. Not likely to happen.

Just quit, steal money from the company, then go to the other job and steal money from the new company and don't get caught. Then you'll make up for your paid vacation.

Be careful...once you give your 3 weeks notice you may be fired the next day. Good luck.

I accept as true with alot of your suggestions (they're excellent). the assumption of having greater realism in the activity sounds fresh. i develop into getting so bored/annoyed of the cartoonish Sims 2, they must incredibly "step up" the activity play in the Sims 3 as you have already suggested on your suggestions. you should incredibly deliver on your suggestions to EA! i think of alot of Sim fan/gamers will agree including your suggestions. * i in my view wish that they proceed to refine the Sims 3 incredibly of leaving it the way it rather is now. <:(
